About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator-DB2 z/OS to join our team at 5100 Kyndryl Solutions Private Limited. As a key member of our Database Administration team, you will be responsible for managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, and maintain database management systems to ensure peak performance.
  • Manage user access and implement the highest standards of security to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access.
  • Develop strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure.
  • Support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.
  • Implement policies and procedures to safeguard our data from external threats.
  • Conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage to ensure that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual who possesses a growth mindset, is customer-focused, and is open and borderless in their approach to work. You should have a strong understanding of database management systems, including DB2 z/OS, and have experience in configuring, installing, and maintaining database management systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical experience.
  • Any graduation or B.E or any equivalent degree.
  • Good experience in Database Management/DBA/Oracle/DB2/SQL.
  • Database replication.
  • Design and implementation of relational databases at an enterprise level.
  • Lead DB Schema and architectural designs.
  • Provide expertise related to DB performance, HA, and scalability.
  • DR Planning and execution in HA environments.
  • Experience with Object Relational Modeling System such as Hibernate or JPA.
  • Physical database design and tuning.
  • Bulk loading of source data and source data conditioning.
  • Database security and diagnostic maintenance.
  • Logical-to-physical data model engineering.
  • Capacity planning of database.
  • Database user security and permissions.
  • Database automation through scripting and stored procedures.
  • Evaluation and utilization of software products to assist in the management of data.
  • Planning, installation, and maintenance of DBMS software.
  • Support/recommend reporting, query and analysis tools ensuring efficient database.
  • Diagnosis of problems and resolution for application software.
  • Measurement of DBMS performance and tuning; diagnosis of problems.
  • Modification of system-level configuration to optimize performance.
  • Interface with developers for performance and data access requirements.
  • Development of standards and procedures for the DBMS environment.
  • Consultation with system administrator regarding O/S - DBMS requirements.
  • Good Understanding on Database replication.
  • Knowledge or experience with Oracle Multitenant.
  • Troubleshooting experience on network packet capture and Analyzing Packet capture.
  • Good Understanding on Application, Database.
  • System Thinking end-to-end - Broad understanding of enterprise architectures and complex (backend) systems (understand more than the component itself).
  • Understanding of systems from a reliability perspective.
  • Passion for resolving reliability issues and identify strategies to mitigate going forward.
  • Understanding and practical working experience on Database, OEM.
  • Experience using Oracle Data Guard.
  • Knowledge or experience with Oracle GoldenGate.
