Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Stress Engineer to join our team in the Oil & Gas Offshore sector. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in stress analysis, piping design, and engineering support for EPC projects.

The role involves performing critical pipe stress evaluations, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality offshore projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pipe Stress Analysis & Design:
  • Perform static and dynamic stress analysis for offshore piping systems using CAESAR II or equivalent software.
  • Evaluate thermal expansion, seismic, wind, wave loads, slug flow, and vibration effects on piping systems.
  • Ensure stress compliance with industry codes (ASME B31.3, B31.8, DNV, API, NORSOK, etc.).
  • Conduct flexibility analysis, fatigue assessments, and flange leakage calculations.
  • Onshore/Offshore Piping System Design & Engineering:
  • Design and analyze piping layouts, support arrangements, and routing to optimize stress distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore design requirements, including FPSO, fixed platforms, and subsea systems.
  • Conduct pipe support selection, spring hanger design, and nozzle load verification.
  • Interface with structural, mechanical, and process disciplines to optimize system performance.
  • EPC Project Execution & Coordination:
  • Support FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), Detail Engineering, and Construction phases.
  • Provide technical guidance during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Review vendor documents for valves, expansion joints, and special piping components.
  • Assist in resolving site queries, modifications, and punch list items.
  • Compliance, Standards & Documentation:
  • Ensure designs adhere to international codes, client specifications, and offshore regulations.
  • Prepare and review pipe stress reports, calculations, and design justifications.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessments for piping systems.
  • Contribute to engineering standards development and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related field.

Technical Expertise:

  • 8+ years of experience in piping stress analysis for offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Proficiency in CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, or similar pipe stress analysis software.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, API, DNV, NORSOK, and other industry codes.
  • Experience with offshore structures, FPSOs, and subsea piping systems.
  • Understanding of dynamic analysis (water hammer, slug flow, PSV discharge).
  • Exposure to finite element analysis (FEA) tools like ANSYS, NozzlePRO, or equivalent (preferred).
