Job Overview:

English Language Expert

The role involves working as an on-site consultant for India's National Assessment Centre, PARAKH, NCERT.

You'll develop and review items for large-scale assessments administered to millions of learners.

Develop tools for progress mapping, teaching practices, and assessments.

Lead the development of Progress Cards for Preparatory and Secondary Stage by PARAKH.

Deliver capacity-building workshops to educators to implement evidence-centered teaching and assessment practices.

  • Provide expert knowledge of psychometrics, educational measurement, and testing programs.
  • Define studies and activities to support the creation and operation of PARAKH.
  • Frame problems and propose solutions to establish PARAKH.
  • Design and lead research studies, including overseeing the work of Psychometricians.
  • Consult clients on psychometric and data issues related to conducting large scale assessment programs.
  • Complete statistical and research plans and review results for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Prepare reports and presentations of project study results and present these to stakeholders.
  • Represent us to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the work on Psychometricians and all psychometric work.
  • Conduct seminars on psychometric issues for staff, test committees, clients, and policy boards.
  • Coach and mentor staff, as appropriate.
  • Participate in interviewing and training staff as needed.
  • Contribute to training of staff on the principles of psychometrics and educational measurement.
