Key Responsibilities Overview

The Group Financial Controller is a senior technical finance position responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across global entities.

  • Group Consolidation & Reporting
    • Lead preparation of consolidated financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102)
    • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes at group level
    • Coordinate with entity accountants to ensure completeness and correctness of financial data prior to consolidation
    • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency translation processes
  • Acquisition & Post-Acquisition Accounting
    • Lead accounting for business combinations in accordance with UK GAAP
    • Ensure accurate recording of acquisition-related transactions
    • Support post-acquisition integration, aligning newly acquired entities with group accounting policies
  • Audit & Compliance
    • Act as primary point of contact for group auditors during statutory audits
    • Ensure compliance with audit requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Technical Accounting & Standards
    • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters
    • Maintain and update group accounting manuals and policies
  • Tax & Regulatory Support
    • Collaborate with local finance teams to ensure timely compliance with corporate tax, VAT/GST, and transfer pricing requirements
  • Process & Systems Improvement
    • Recommend and implement improvements to the group consolidation and reporting processes

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
  • 12-15+ years in finance, with extensive experience in multi-entity group consolidation and statutory reporting
  • Proven expertise in UK GAAP (FRS 102) and multi-currency accounting
  • Experience working within a global finance environment
