Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Expert to join our team at ixigo. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying software applications.

  • You will code, develop, design, and architect features related to our existing application.
  • You will own modules end-to-end and take pride in the work products you ship.
  • You will design, implement, test, and maintain highly scalable, multi-tier, distributed server software applications.
  • You will deliver across the entire app life cycle, including design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores, and support.
  • You will work directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test, and release products.
  • You will take responsibility for the performance and stability of all our applications and related infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A strong background in Computer Science or Engineering, preferably from IITs or top RECs.
  • No less than 6 years of experience at cutting-edge organizations or startups.
  • Expertise in Java/J2EE technology.
  • Proficiency in implementing algorithms and using advanced data structures to solve computing problems.
  • Experience with e-business/e-commerce applications and business environments.
  • Good understanding of Java/J2EE and design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and design for performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Expertise in relational databases like MySQL or Postgres.
  • Knowledge in MongoDB and Web services.
  • Ability to make extensive use of Instruments and Shark to detect memory leaks and perform optimization.
  • Good grasp of algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded programming.
  • Experience writing unit tests and automation tests.
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development is a plus.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to fit in well within an informal startup environment.
  • High energy level and untiring commitment to drive yourself & the team toward goals.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.
