Job Overview:

The Embedded Hardware Development Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions for embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical/electronics engineering and experience in new product development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define hardware requirement specifications and interface specifications for software
  • Develop novel hardware ideas to solve complex design challenges
  • Own conceptual studies, including designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting feasibility prototypes
  • Involve in component selections, circuit designs, circuit simulations, BOM management, PCB design and layout reviews
  • Prepare detailed design documentation for the designs
  • Contribute to the integration of various hardware sub-systems into the mechanical assembly
  • Identify technical risks in the design, propose mitigation strategies, and actively participate in DFMEA processes
  • Plan and perform hands-on testing at circuit level/module level/product level to evaluate circuit and system performance

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-8 years of experience in embedded hardware development
  • End-to-end experience in New Product Development – from feasibility prototype to mass production
  • Strong expertise in STM32 microcontroller architecture, peripheral configuration, and application integration
  • Proficient in digital communication interfaces: SPI, I2C, RS-485, UART
  • Skilled in analog circuit design using op-amps (comparators, filters), interfacing with ADC/DAC
  • Practical knowledge of DC-DC power supply design (buck converters), power sequencing, protection circuits, and thermal design
  • Sound understanding of PCB layout techniques for signal integrity, high-speed routing, and EMI reduction techniques

Additional Expertise:

  • Understanding and working knowledge of medical standards IEC60601-1
  • Awareness of EMI/EMC tests and design for compliance
