SAP PlusOne Network Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network DevOps Engineer with expertise in WAN to join our PlusOne Network - WAN Edge team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a deep understanding of network automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving technology strategy, implementing network automation solutions, and collaborating with a diverse team on customer connectivity topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in IaaS and IaC, with a focus on network automation.
  • Automate network infrastructure and optimize network automation processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest hyperscalers' technologies and understand their business potential.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi to deploy, operate, and maintain hyperscalers' Network Infrastructures.
  • Build, operate, and maintain Cross-Cloud and Private Cloud connectivity services.
  • Drive technology strategy by identifying and implementing innovative solutions for customer and DC connectivity.
  • Utilize OSS Monitoring and Logging solutions like ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus to improve MTTR for Critical Infrastructure.
  • Collaborate effectively with a global and diverse team, including network engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Adapt to variable working hours to cover the US and EMEA shift (ability to work early APJ).
  • Participate in 24/7 operations model and maintain SAP's global ISP infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of technical experience with IaaS and IaC, specifically in network automation.
  • Tools and Technologies: Proficiency in DevOps tools (Git, GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines), experience with Linux OS environment, and knowledge of at least two programming languages (preferably Golang, Python).
  • Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of wide area network protocols, including BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and data center routing and switching.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team.

About the Team:

We are the GCID PlusOne Network Engineering WAN Edge Team. We work in a DevOps model, developing and operating WAN Edge services such as external data center connectivity services (Internet, DDoS, connectivity to Hyperscalers). We are a team of 12 members located worldwide and work closely with the WAN Core team, responsible for our core internal connectivity services.
