Cloud-Native Infrastructure Architect Role

We are seeking a Cloud-Native Infrastructure Architect to design, develop, and optimize our enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role requires hands-on expertise in architecture, automation, and strategic direction on AKS adoption, DevOps tooling, and cloud-native best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the end-to-end architecture for AKS-based workloads in Azure, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Design multi-environment, multi-region AKS architectures that scale efficiently and meet business needs.
  • Establish best practices for container orchestration, scaling, governance, and security in AKS.
  • Provide expert advice on cost optimization strategies for AKS and related Azure resources.

Expertise Requirements:

  • Proficient in architecting and provisioning AKS clusters with features such as cluster and node pool autoscaling, private cluster configuration, network isolation using Azure CNI / Kubenet, and managed identities and Azure AD integration.
  • Skilled in designing Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for AKS provisioning.
  • Experienced in implementing GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux) for automated deployments and defining CI/CD architecture using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for AKS workloads.

Security and Compliance:

  • Architect RBAC and Azure AD security models for AKS access and integrate security scanning for container images and Kubernetes workloads.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks and governance policies.

Observability and Monitoring:

  • Architect observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus, Container Insights, and Grafana.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Architecture, or related roles.
  • 5+ years hands-on Azure experience, with deep AKS expertise.
  • Strong technical expertise in Kubernetes architecture & troubleshooting, Azure networking (VNet, NSG, Private Link), IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM), and container security and governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience with service mesh architectures (Istio, Linkerd, OSM) and multi-cluster management tools (Azure Arc, Fleet).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to lead design workshops and architecture reviews.
  • Strategic problem-solver with hands-on implementation skills.
