We are seeking a visionary Senior Linux Engineer to spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cutting-edge Linux-based infrastructure. As a key member of our IT System Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our systems. Your expertise in Linux technologies, combined with your leadership skills, will drive our team's success in delivering high-performance, secure, and scalable solutions that align with industry best practices and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, standards, and integration strategies
  • Analyze existing Linux infrastructure to identify opportunities for optimization in terms of performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Manage and support virtualization environments, ensuring efficient utilization of resources
  • Oversee the implementation of Linux-based solutions, ensuring seamless configuration, integration, and adherence to design principles
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful deployment within specified timelines
  • Implement robust security measures and industry best practices to fortify Linux systems against security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to maintain a secure operating environment
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the Linux ecosystem
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance Linux capabilities
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and security experts, to deliver integrated solutions
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Create comprehensive system documentation, including architectural diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system engineering, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex Linux-based systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Oracle Linux) and associated technologies
  • Profound understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and integration methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and services within a Linux environment
  • Experience with Docker containerization and container orchestration
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) to manage and enforce system configurations
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and knowledge sharing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation, customization, and system administration
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and the ability to integrate Linux systems integration of collaboration tools, such as messaging platforms and video conferencing systems
  • Proficient in managing and maintaining virtualized environments and utilizing technologies like VMware for efficient resource utilization
