Job Opportunity: SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to fill this key role.

  • Key responsibilities include installing, upgrading, and migrating SQL Servers;
  • Applying patches or service packs for SQL Server;
  • Configuring High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions;
  • Setting up automated alerts to notify the team of any issues;
  • Troubleshooting locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and fixing them;
  • Participating in incident resolution calls to troubleshoot and fix critical incidents;
  • Executing changes to database schema and maintaining a controlled development environment;
  • Working closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands;
  • Handling database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production environments;
  • Providing day-to-day support for high OLTP availability of SQL Server databases – identifying root causes of production problems and working with developers to resolve such issues;
  • Working on performance tuning, such as creating missing indexes;
  • Having experience in scripting using Perl, PowerShell;
  • Having experience in AWS/Azure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with a minimum of 6 years of experience. A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and be proactive in resolving issues is essential.
