Our mission-driven team of space enthusiasts is passionate about creating a better future for planet Earth through advanced solutions that enable real-time analysis, rapid decision-making, and reduced data downlink needs.

As a key member of our development team, you will contribute to our space data analytics product Orbitfy, exploring different use cases for the technology and working closely with the CTO to strategize the product and company roadmap.

The data science team at Little Place Lab is the heart and brain of our product development, offering space-derived analytics as the source of truth for key stakeholders.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and the CTO to apply sophisticated modeling techniques to a modern data stack and build the future of Space Edge Computing.

Apart from your core responsibilities, you will also be expected to:

  • Proactively leverage AI tools to enhance productivity across the data science lifecycle.
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art computer vision and ML models for satellite imagery.
  • Train and fine-tune deep learning models for edge deployment, balancing performance with efficiency, power, and computational constraints.
  • Provide MLOps, orchestration, and workflow best practices.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with GIS engineers, software teams, and product managers to integrate ML solutions into Orbitfy's broader pipeline.
  • Innovation and research: stay ahead of emerging trends in Edge AI, ML, and remote sensing.

Your contributions will shape the product roadmap and strengthen our position in edge-based space intelligence.

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, embraces AI tools in day-to-day workflows, and leverages them to boost productivity and accelerate results.

Technical skills required include strong experience in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, cloud infrastructure, Docker, and git best practices.

Familiarity with satellite imagery and remote sensing is preferred but not mandatory if you have a strong ML background.
