Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/Head of Accounts with a strong background in accounting and financial diligence, preferably within the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial health of our fast-growing D2C brand, ensuring compliance, optimizing processes, and providing strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, to provide timely and accurate insights to senior management. Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and suggest actionable recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Financial Due Diligence: Lead the process of financial due diligence for partnerships, investments, or acquisitions, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Accounting and Compliance: Monitor and record transactions from online sales platforms, including payments, returns, claims, and sales tax compliance. Collaborate with logistics teams to manage inventory costs related to warehousing, packaging, and shipping.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement robust accounting systems and internal controls tailored to the D2C business model. Identify inefficiencies in financial operations and recommend improvements.
  • Team Management: Mentor junior accountants and finance team members to ensure professional growth. Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability for deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA/CPA certification preferred.
  • 10-12 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a senior role within the D2C or e-commerce industry.
  • Proven expertise in conducting financial due diligence for partnerships or acquisitions.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management across departments.
