Automation Specialist Job
  • Key responsibilities include executing maintenance activities in Steel Melting Shop, commissioning BOF, Laddle Furnace, Degasser, Hot Metal Desulphurization units, and providing technical expertise to maintenance personnel.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in organizing and planning coordination of day-to-day maintenance activities, strategizing on maintenance methods, creating plant preventative maintenance procedures, and scheduling routine maintenance of plant equipment/instruments.
  • Additional skills required include deep knowledge in siemens PLC Automation (Siemens PLC- S7-300/400/400H/1200/1500), preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance jobs, periodic inspection associated with PLC system, software, hardware aspects of programming and networking PCS-7 CFC charts.
  • Experience in troubleshooting faults, repairing, and replacing control/instrumentation cable between PLC, RIO panel, and field devices is necessary.
  • The automation specialist should also be familiar with electrical control systems, server hardware, handling different software related to automation, preventing, predicting, and breaking down Level-1 and Level-2 Networks, Servers, Engineering Stations, Emergency Workstations, HMI, View Monitors, Laptops, Printers, active and passive components.
  • It is essential to identify malfunctions, replace parts and components, and be familiar with safety procedures while carrying out electrical work.
  • Good communication and coordination are crucial, as well as maintaining a good relationship with team members and clients.
  • Report preparation, PPT, Excel skills are also required.
  • Qualifications: bachelor's degree in Commuter/Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in Siemens PLC Automation, Network servers is mandatory.

Requirements and qualifications are critical for success in this role. Experience in commissioning Siemens Automation systems, working in a Steel Plant environment, and proficiency in reporting, presentation, and data analysis are preferred.
