Cloudflare Web Application Firewall Specialist

This role is responsible for managing Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules, page shields, and threat intelligence filters to ensure secure web traffic.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent and a strong understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS.

  • Manage WAF rules and configurations to minimize false positives and enable protection against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Tune policies to ensure seamless integration with applications and prevent web security threats.
  • Monitor web traffic anomalies, bot activity, and take preventive actions to maintain web security.
  • Collaborate with app teams to validate WAF configurations before production rollout and ensure smooth deployment.
  • Troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies to minimize downtime.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • 5+ years of experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent.
  • Understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bonus points if you have certifications such as Cloudflare Certified WAF Practitioner, CEH or GIAC Web Application Defender (GWEB), or OWASP Top 10 mastery.

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
