Job Summary:

This position is for a seasoned professional in Test and Validation, who works independently, measures, analyzes, and calibrates equipment on medium to large platforms/projects/systems. Trains lower-level team members. Prepares equipment for complex testing on medium to large platforms, and oversees the preparation of equipment for testing on smaller to medium platforms/projects/systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product requirements and use cases to deliver high-quality software/Firmware on schedule for production releases.
  • Competent in test planning, test execution for functional, Integration, and system testing.
  • Strong expertise in testing Embedded Devices, IOT, Firmware, MQTT, and mobile (Android & iOS) applications.
  • Create and execute test plans and test cases based upon functional and product design specifications and report results as per QA policies and procedures.
  • Help define, promote, and ensure adherence to Quality assurance processes such as test plan reviews, defect management, risk/complexity analysis, and regression test maintenance.
  • Responsible for not only the quality of the system but also in the way that it is released to customers.
  • Developing and reviewing Master Test Plans and implementing the defined test strategy via automation.
  • Reviewing requirements and design documents from a test automation point of view.
  • Quickly gaining domain knowledge and applying it in project execution.
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting test results for both system integration and verification purposes.
  • Providing proactive feedback to development and system design for bringing the Quality culture.
  • Defining standard methodologies and training & guiding engineers to maximize the value of test automation.
  • Very strong with testing techniques (e.g., unit, integration, system, user acceptance, etc.).
  • Flexible to work on manual testing and automation testing based on business priorities.
  • Supporting and participating in the engineering processes (SDLC, release management, etc.).
  • Actively participating in the project planning process (e.g., estimates for project plan tasks, resources, completion time, capital requirements, risks, expenses, etc.).
  • Relentless customer focus.
  • Quickly gaining hands-on knowledge of products.
  • Providing customer perspective and product management vision to the delivery team.
  • Understanding various use cases of the product, including other systems integration, providing value to users.
  • Debugging hardware setups in case of failure.

Qualifications & Experience:

BE/ME or BTech/MTech – Electronics/Any or BE/BTech in Electronics or ME/MTech in Computer Science/Any with 6+ years of experience in below areas:

  • Strong Embedded Firmware Testing Experience.
  • Embedded Test Experience with Microcontrollers.
  • Experience in Hardware Debugging.
  • Experience in testing IOT devices.
  • Communication Protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485.
  • Ability to use logic analyzers, Oscilloscope, emulators, Simulators, debuggers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience utilizing Agile Software Process Techniques.
  • Knowledge on communication protocols like REST(HTTP or CoAP), MQTT, etc.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in embedded software/Firmware Testing for HVAC control applications from concept through to production.
  • Working knowledge on IBM RTC, RQM, JIRA, etc.
