Job Title: Software Engineer - WordPress Expert

We are seeking a skilled and experienced software engineer to join our team as a WordPress expert. This role requires strong technical expertise in PHP, the WordPress ecosystem, and database management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, and internal tools using PHP and other relevant technologies.
  • Implement advanced Gutenberg blocks, leveraging hooks, APIs, and custom theme logic to create engaging user experiences.
  • Optimize database queries and code execution for improved performance, using techniques such as profiling, debugging, and caching.
  • Integrate with REST APIs and microservices to expand the capabilities of our WordPress engine.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to connect blocks and themes while owning the backend architecture.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep expertise in PHP and the WordPress ecosystem, including hooks, APIs, plugins, themes, and Gutenberg.
  • Strong SQL skills and proven experience optimizing queries for performance.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice integration patterns.
  • Experience with Docker/Podman workflows and Linux environments, including WP-CLI, file manipulation, and container operations.
  • A performance-minded developer who can profile, measure, and optimize code execution.
  • MacOS or Linux development environment is required.
  • Good command of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6).
  • Experience working closely with designers and front-end developers.
  • Awareness of accessibility and Core Web Vitals best practices.
