Linux Systems Expert Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Linux systems expert to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Linux-based systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and expand our existing Linux environment on Ubuntu to meet evolving user and company needs.
  • Design, develop, and configure new features for Linux client instances to address business or IT security requirements.
  • Ensure function, stability, and reliability of the Linux environment on various hardware types and virtual machines through quality assurance and testing.
  • Provide expert-level Linux support for users, leveraging existing IT service management processes.
  • Analyze and resolve integration issues with our company's infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep enthusiasm for Linux as a mindset and essential tool, with a love for working on the command line.
  • Proven expertise in packaging and administering GNU/Linux and Debian-based distributions, focusing on Ubuntu.
  • Experience in software development and scripting with strong skills in Bash, Python, and GNU utilities.
  • Skill in managing Linux software development processes and GIT-based CI/CD pipelines for smooth workflows.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Salt-Stack, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with desktop virtualization and Linux container runtime environments like VMWare, Oracle VirtualBox, Hyper-V, WSL2, Docker, and Podman.
  • Excellent debugging and error analysis skills under Linux.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality IT support and services.
