Electrical Design Expert Wanted

We are seeking a highly skilled electrical design expert with a strong background in control systems, drive selection, and safety compliance for semiconductor capital equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise, the ability to handle B&R I/O systems (and possibly Siemens PLCs), and a solid foundation in risk assessment and machine safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Motors, Drives, and Motion Systems: Designing, selecting, and sizing motors, drives, and motion systems for semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Industrial I/O Systems: Working with industrial I/O systems; familiarity with B&R PLCs is an advantage.
  • Risk Assessments: Contributing to risk assessments per SEMI S14, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL standards.
  • Power Distribution Systems: Designing AC/DC power distribution systems compliant with NFPA 79, SEMI S22, and relevant UL standards.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to capture and clarify technical requirements, load/motion integration for new and existing projects. Taking ownership of assigned projects, and when required, leading a team of engineers.
  • Documentation and Data Management: Preparing and maintaining electrical schematics, I/O lists, cable routing diagrams, and BOMs using SolidWorks Electrical. Managing and maintaining product data in PLM systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Providing hands-on troubleshooting support for control panels, drives, and I/O systems. Supporting FAT execution, customer acceptance, and TUV or third-party safety audits.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentoring junior engineers and sharing best practices.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, with 5–8 years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment.

A strong understanding of drive selection, motor sizing, and motion control principles is essential, as well as experience with SEMI S14 risk assessment, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL compliance.

Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, along with strong knowledge of PLM systems, is also required.

Familiarity with basic PLC programming and field commissioning experience is an added advantage.
