We are seeking experienced engineers to convert legacy VB6 applications to modern C# applications using Visual Studio. To be successful in this role, you should have a strong grasp of .NET technologies and be capable of reverse engineering and modernizing legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand legacy VB6 applications
  • Convert VB6 code to C# using Visual Studio
  • Refactor code to follow modern .NET architectural patterns
  • Redesign legacy components into modular, reusable code
  • Conduct thorough unit and integration testing
  • Maintain detailed documentation during the SDLC
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in Computer Science or Electronics, or Software Application Development & Migration
  • Advanced skills in C#/.NET Development
  • Strong working knowledge of VB6 (Visual Basic 6.0)
  • Hands-on experience in full-cycle migration projects from VB6 to C#
  • Expertise in using Visual Studio for both VB6 and C# environments
  • Able to modularize and optimize legacy logic
  • Clear and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills

Technical Expertise:

  • 5+ years experience in C#
  • 5+ years experience in .NET
  • 4+ years experience in Visual Studio Code/Visual Studio

Working as a system converter is a challenging but rewarding role that requires:

  • Analyzing existing VB6 applications to understand business logic and technical flow
  • Migrating VB6 code to C# using Visual Studio and following .NET best practices
  • Performing code refactoring and modularization to improve maintainability and scalability
  • Redesigning outdated components using modern .NET frameworks
  • Developing and executing unit and integration tests to ensure accuracy post-migration
  • Collaborating with QA and project management teams to identify and resolve defects
  • Maintaining migration documentation including mapping logs, user manuals, and change records
  • Participating in code reviews, knowledge transfer sessions, and technical discussions
  • Ensuring projects meet SDLC standards, timelines, and quality benchmarks
  • Working independently and managing task priorities with minimal supervision
