Job Title: Cost Manager

As a leading figure in cost management, you will be responsible for independently overseeing projects, leveraging your expertise in quantity survey, rate analysis, value engineering, and market knowledge on pricing, procurement, and post-contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake pre-and post-contract duties including cost estimates, procurement, tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and compile procurement reports.
  • Develop and present the final cost plan to include estimating and cost planning.
  • Manage tendering and procurement activity, including administering the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report, and compiling contractual documents.
  • Perform timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
  • Interact with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Participate effectively in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Conduct cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating best practices.

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of interior fit-out projects for a period of 5+ years for CM/QS.
  • Prior experience of handling base build projects is required, and candidates with commercial project exposure could be prioritized, preferably with background working on estimation tools.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction and procurement.
  • Experience with or managing a team that uses multiple estimating tools and applications.
  • Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases.
  • The collaborative approach, able to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated strong listening and communication skills.
  • Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally within a consultancy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably with a construction consultancy in India.
  • Degree in a relevant construction subject with good technical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
