Public Relations Role Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing communications strategy. The role encompasses managing media relations, coordinating public relations activities, directing social media engagement, leveraging existing relationships, and cultivating new contacts.

  • Develop a strategic media relations plan to secure high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media.
  • Coordinate all public relations efforts to ensure seamless communication with various stakeholders.
  • Direct the social media team to engage audiences across traditional and emerging platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business and industry media outlets.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests to effectively communicate the organization's message.
  • Create compelling content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report PR results on a quarterly basis.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with thought leaders to enhance industry awareness.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends affecting clients and provide strategic recommendations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in public relations is essential.
  • A track record of designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both local and national levels is required.
  • Strong relationships with local and national business and industry media outlets are necessary.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills are vital.
  • Solid experience with social media platforms, including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc., is essential.
  • Event planning experience is desirable.
  • A degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
