Job Description

As a specialist in marine engineering design, you will collaborate closely with clients to deliver their vessel and structure design projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting detailed Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of structural components, equipment foundations, and global FE analysis for ships and floating structures.
  • Preparing preliminary general arrangements (GA) and technical specifications.
  • Performing all necessary naval architecture calculations, including weight estimates, intact and damage stability characteristics, resistance, powering, and hydrostatic properties.

Proficiency in class IMO Flag rules and regulations is essential for applying these principles in the design process.

In addition, successful candidates will have:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in structural analysis, especially in marine structures.
  • Expertise in performing buckling and vibrational analysis using ANSYS software.
  • Familiarity with Naval Architectural software such as MAXSURF or DELFT ship or NAPA.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing mooring systems for ships and floating structures.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Business Development team in pre-sales and post-sales activities to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Liaising with clients and/or classification societies for basic design requirements.
  • Interacting with all stakeholders involved in the project, including clients, classification societies, vendors, and shippers.

Required qualifications include:

  • A graduate or master's degree in Naval Architecture with a strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of FEA, CFD, and other advanced engineering methodologies.
