About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud-native environments, a strong background in Python/Django, and experience with distributed task queues (Celery) and caching mechanisms (Redis).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust backend services using Python/Django.
  • Work with distributed task queues (Celery) and caching mechanisms (Redis).
  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases for high performance and reliability.
  • Design and maintain APIs across gRPC, REST, and GraphQL, ensuring schema versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and contract tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement observability best practices with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, structured logging, and Grafana dashboards.
  • Profile and optimize application performance, including analyzing SQL query plans and tuning production systems.
  • Contribute to cloud-native deployments using tools like Docker and GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical solutions clearly.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python/Django in production.
  • Strong knowledge of Celery, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
  • Proven experience in API design (gRPC, REST, GraphQL) and handling versioning.
  • Solid experience in testing practices with coverage metrics and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana).
  • Experience in performance tuning and production debugging.
  • Comfortable working in cloud-native environments (Docker, GitHub Actions).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

The following qualifications are beneficial but not required:

  • Familiarity with TypeScript or Golang.
