Job Title: Power System Product Development Engineer
Job Description:
As a Power System Product Development Engineer, you will lead the design and development of new power system products from concept to production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Design and Development: Lead the design and development of new power system products.
- Prototype Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and test prototypes of new power system products.
Technical Leadership:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of power and energy applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Serve as a technical expert providing guidance and support to customers on product selection, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate the performance, reliability, and efficiency of new product concepts and designs.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to validate product performance and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, technical requirements, operation manuals, and test reports.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support teams to provide technical expertise and support throughout the product lifecycle.
- Teamwork: Be a flexible team member willing to work on what the agile team needs to achieve its collective goals.
- Problem Solving: Provide resolutions for technical roadblocks after discussing with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Control or Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or any related field, and relevant industrial or academic work experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years (or 2 years post PhD) of experience in power system product development or a related field. Experience working with electric utility companies is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in power systems and control system simulations, combining different software tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, PSS/E, or PSCAD. Familiarity with RTDS/RSCAD is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of power systems control, with a focus on system-level control of grid-connected power electronics converters.
- Knowledge of battery technologies and energy storage systems.
- Understanding of regulatory standards, grid codes, and FAT/SAT processes.
- Experience in using agile tools, such as Jira or TFS, is desirable.
