Developer Relations Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Developer Relations Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong passion for open-source software, Linux, and developer communities.

About the Role

The Developer Relations Engineer will be responsible for engaging directly with open-source communities and developer-centric organisations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and diplomacy skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence in various contexts.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with developer community members, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, articles, presentations, and workshops.
  • Identify new opportunities and directions for improvement in the developer experience we provide.
  • Presentation at conferences, meetups, or technical events.
Requirements
  • Strong programming skills and hands-on experience with Linux software packaging (including Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers).
  • Practical experience of contributing to open-source communities, software, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural contexts.
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu and the Canonical ecosystem of products is a plus.
