Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing and testing complex mechanical systems and equipment.

You will collaborate with customers and the marketing team to determine design requirements, plan and execute the design of precision mechanical equipment, develop and test prototypes, and work closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.

This is an opportunity to solve problems in engineering design and participate in industry development.

The ideal candidate should be mathematically and mechanically minded with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles is essential, as well as the ability to find creative solutions to technical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with vendors and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to determine project requirements.
  • Conduct research to inform design and engineering methods required for mechanical systems.
  • Plan and execute mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.
  • Perform computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine designs.
  • Oversee the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Document the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Liaise with designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Rhino etc.
  • Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Stringent problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to stay current with advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
  • Prior experience in design engineering of meter mix.
  • Preferrable experience with machines, dispensing equipment, pumps, and hand tools.
