Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers in the development and implementation of innovative structural solutions for aircraft cargo products.



About the Role

This is a senior leadership position that requires a strong background in structural engineering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.



Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a moderately sized team of structural engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversight of stress analysis, design change recommendations, and ensuring compliance with aircraft industry standards and codes.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, drafting, manufacturing, operations, and project management.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance processes are in place and followed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, advancements, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues, conflicts, and changes in project scope.
  • Drive continuous improvement in products and processes, implementing Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques.
  • Responsible for overseeing competency mapping and development for the team, developing and implementing technical training plans and modules.
  • Ability to work in extremely aggressive schedules while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality work to customers.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering; Master's degree in Mechanical Design desired.
  • Total 12+ years of relevant experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials, and software (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Proficient in solid mechanics, machine design, and structural load paths and response to load.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Good analytical skills and knowledge of aircraft structural part design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
