Job Description

The Head of Internal Audit of TEC India is responsible for leading and managing the internal audit function within TEC India entities. This role involves overseeing the development and execution of the internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic insights to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control processes, and governance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate findings and associated recommendations to senior management and the Board committees.

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Strategy
  2. Develop and execute the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessment and business objectives
  3. Lead, mentor, and manage the internal audit resources to ensure high performance and professional development
  4. Act as the key liaison between internal audit and senior management, the board of directors, the audit committee, and the risk committee
  1. Risk Management and Compliance
  2. Identify and assess key risks and internal controls related to business processes, financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency
  3. Ensure the Company's compliance with relevant regulations
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management processes and recommend improvements
  1. Audit Execution and Reporting
  2. Oversee and review audit engagements, including planning, execution, and reporting
  3. Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with professional standards and methodologies
  4. Prepare and present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the audit committee
  1. Process Improvement
  2. Collaborate with management to develop and implement action plans in response to audit findings
  3. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practices within the organization
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes and corrective actions
  1. Stakeholder Communication
  2. Communicate risk assessment updates, audit results, and insights effectively to stakeholders, including executive management, the audit committee, the risk committee, and external auditors
  3. Provide guidance and support to management on internal control issues and risk mitigation strategies
  1. Governance and Ethical Standards
  2. Ensure adherence to the highest ethical standards and company policies
  3. Maintain independence and objectivity in all audit activities and interactions

Requirements

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent are highly desirable;
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in internal audit, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the real estate or hospitality industry;
  • In-depth knowledge of internal controls, risk management, corporate governance;
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to assess complex issues and provide practical recommendations;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and external stakeholders;
  • Proficient report writing skills and problem-solving ability;
  • Fluent in writing and speaking in English;
  • Willingness to occasional travel.
