Operational Excellence Specialist Role

The position of Operational Excellence Specialist is a vital part of our organization. We are seeking an individual who can develop and execute a focused effort to improve operational effectiveness and profitability.

This role involves collaborating with leadership teams and directors to develop and lead performance transformations. The goal is to drive continuous improvement and enhance the work environment.

  • Develop cost-saving projects through operational efficiencies.
  • Establish standards for manufacturing excellence.
  • Track and eliminate lost production causes.
  • Conduct diagnostics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Define processes and implement or streamline/improve use of LEAN tools, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Propose and support projects and programs within the business.
  • Support the execution of improvement projects by promoting proven tools and approaches.
  • Provide training and skill-building for leaders.
  • Lead and mentor team members to motivate employees.
  • Recommend and implement quality methods.
  • Participate in self-development activities and training of others.

Key Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred; education with a scientific background is highly desired.

Work Experience: BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline and at least 5-8 years' experience in project/program management, operational excellence / continuous improvement, or consulting role required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Extensive previous experience in implementation of OE/CI projects in manufacturing (pharmaceutical preferred) environment.
  • Certified Six sigma Black Belt
  • Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma experience to drive business results
  • Strong technical skills
  • Impact and influence skills and strong experience in change management
