Senior Backend Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to design and develop robust, scalable backend systems that power our seamless integration between hardware devices and user-facing applications. This critical role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create efficient RESTful API and NoSQL services using Kotlin or Java.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Develop and maintain scalable system designs that integrate hardware devices and user-facing applications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Leads, Product Managers, QA Engineers, and software and hardware teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Architecture: Make informed architectural decisions focusing on performance, maintainability, and security.
  • Code Review: Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the team.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 8+ Years of Experience: Proven track record in software development, including 5+ years building scalable backend services using RESTful API and NoSQL.
  • Backend Development: Strong experience with backend development in Java or Kotlin.
  • Hardware Interaction: Deep understanding of designing and developing software that interacts with or manages hardware devices.
  • API Design: Solid grasp of API design, versioning, and documentation.
  • Software Engineering: Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, testing, debugging, and CI/CD best practices.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Containerized Services: Familiarity with containerized services and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Messaging Systems: Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
