Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Testing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in manual and automation testing, with expertise in building scalable automation frameworks.

The successful candidate will work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to design and implement effective test strategies. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin), performing both manual and automated testing to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers.

  • Design and develop automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD.
  • Perform manual and automated testing to ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain Page Object Model for scalable and maintainable automation.

Additional responsibilities include building and extending core framework utilities, ensuring clean code practices, identifying and documenting defects, and mentoring junior QA team members.

Required Skills & Expertise
  • Selenium WebDriver:
    • Advanced knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, and synchronization issues.
  • BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin):
    • Writing business-readable feature files and mapping steps correctly for reusability and modularity.
  • Java (or framework language):
    • Strong OOP concepts (inheritance, abstraction, polymorphism) and clean code practices with SOLID principles.
  • Step Definitions:
    • Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic and ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Page Object Model:
    • Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory and writing maintainable locators and encapsulating UI interactions.
  • Core Framework:
    • Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs, implementing custom waits, retry mechanisms, and driver utilities.
Additional Skills
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, UAT).
  • Experience in API testing using Postman/RestAssured.
  • Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in QA, including at least 2+ years in automation testing and proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
