AP & AR Accountant Job Summary:

MIR Digital seeks a detail-oriented and proactive AP & AR Accountant to manage accounts payable and receivable functions, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

This role involves verifying, processing, and reconciling vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will analyze and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

The AP & AR Accountant will also prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports. Additionally, the candidate will maintain and manage relationships with vendors, addressing any payment issues or discrepancies promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice Processing: Verify, process, and reconcile vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Expense Analysis: Analyze and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports.
  4. Vendor Management: Maintain and manage relationships with vendors, addressing any payment issues or discrepancies promptly.
  5. Data Management: Ensure accuracy of financial data by maintaining and updating the accounts payable ledger.
  6. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • QuickBooks experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian taxes – HST, PST, PD7A, ROE.
  • Experience with Canadian Full-time employees – Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, CPP, EI.
  • Experience with vendor payments.
  • Meticulous in verifying invoices from vendors/consultants prior to processing the payments.
  • Experience with MS Excel, Pivot, and scripting (VLOOKUP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial transactions and records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
