Freelance SAP SD Specialist for Pharmaceutical Operations

This role is an opportunity to work as a Freelance SAP SD Specialist for pharmaceutical operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with the end-to-end SAP SD lifecycle and be familiar with pharma industry regulations.

We are looking for a skilled consultant who can configure SAP SD processes, including sales orders, pricing, billing, credit management, shipping, returns, and intercompany billing. The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing SAP Logistics Execution while ensuring compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, DSCSA, and EU FMD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze Order-to-Cash (OTC) requirements.
  • Configure SAP SD processes, including sales orders, pricing, billing, credit management, shipping, returns, and intercompany billing.
  • Implement SAP Logistics Execution while ensuring compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, DSCSA, and EU FMD.
  • Collaborate with SAP modules (MM, FI, WM, PP, QM, CRM) and external systems (EDI, SFDC, Coupa, Ariba, Mulesoft).
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and UAT test plans; troubleshoot and resolve defects.
  • Provide end-user training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, ensuring compliance with SOX, FDA, and IT controls.
  • Support SAP rollouts, upgrades, and S/4HANA transformations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of SAP SD experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong configuration expertise in Sales, Pricing, Billing, Shipping, Credit, Intercompany, and Returns.
  • Solid understanding of pharma-specific processes and regulations (GxP, FDA, serialization, track & trace).
  • Experience with SAP integration (EDI, APIs, IDOCs, ALE).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies / SAP Activate and S/4HANA.
Preferred Skills:
  • SAP SD / S/4HANA certification.
  • Vistex (rebates, chargebacks).
  • 3PL/4PL logistics integration.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori and embedded analytics.
  • Ability to debug ABAP code.
