Large-Scale Data System Specialist

As a Large-Scale Data System Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and building complex data systems that support business growth.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build large-scale data systems using Trino (PrestoSQL), Hive Metastore, Iceberg, Delta Lake, HDFS, Kafka, S3, GCS, or ADLS.
  • Develop and implement efficient data processing pipelines using SQL performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment with Trino (PrestoSQL).
  • Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Distributed computing frameworks and large-scale data systems experience.
  • Hive Metastore, Iceberg, Delta Lake, HDFS, Kafka, S3, GCS, or ADLS knowledge.
  • Linux, shell scripting, and JVM-based application troubleshooting skills.
  • Monitoring and logging tools exposure (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
  • Kubernetes or Docker-based deployments experience preferred.
