Kafka Cluster Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Kafka Cluster Engineer to join our team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage high availability Kafka clusters for production environments.
  • Implement automated deployment and configuration of Kafka clusters using Ansible and Chef.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize Kafka performance, and minimize downtime.
  • Design and deploy MirrorMaker for data replication between two data centers.
  • Manage Provectus Kafka UI on Kubernetes for real-time monitoring.
  • Integrate Schema Registry and deploy multiple Kafka Connectors.
  • Configure ACL permissions, create topics, and implement end-to-end security with SSL/TLS.
  • Optimize partitioning, replication, and retention policies through performance testing.
  • Integrate Kafka with ELK Stack and Solr for scalable data storage and analysis.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kafka, Mirrormaker, Kafka Streams, Schemaregistry, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, and other relevant technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Java or Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
