Job Title: Procurement Manager - Raw Materials

The procurement manager of raw materials is responsible for overseeing the acquisition and procurement of essential raw materials required for production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement to Pay Management: Review purchase requisitions, float RFQs as per plan received from planning teams, prepare comparative quote sheets, negotiate best prices, issue POs to L1 as per approval of AVP & VP Procurement. Ensure timely delivery of material (OTIF), diligence in follow-ups with suppliers, ensure timely payments, vendor reconciliations etc.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Analyze market trends, identify potential risks and opportunities in the raw materials market.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget for raw materials and ensure compliance with financial targets. Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all raw materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Optimization: Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials. Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock.
  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.
