Job Overview

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a skilled Biomedical Technician to join our team. This role will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on medical equipment, water systems, and physical plant in assigned facilities.

About the Role

  • Perform moderate scope semi-routine tasks under general supervision, requiring full knowledge of general aspects of the job.
  • Repair and maintain water treatment equipment, dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, test equipment, and physical plant as required by manufacturers and company policies.
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled repair and maintenance activities with approved vendors.
  • Oversee maintenance of ancillary devices, ensuring compliance with manufacturer's recommendations and company policies.
  • Act as an equipment 'trouble-shooter', identifying problems and recommending resolutions.
  • Purchase and maintain an inventory of service parts from approved sources.
  • Document daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly Technical CQI/QAI duties, analyzing data and leading technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to ensure regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
  • Review water system documentation to verify compliance.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on water systems.
  • Identify instances where company policy and procedures are not being met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Successful completion of Biomedical Technician Education Curriculum and Practicum.
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in electronics/biomedical technology preferred.
  • Nephrology/Biomedical Industry Technical Certifications a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
