About the Role:
This Associate role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the gaming industry and wants to be part of a dynamic team. As a member of the Global Capability Centre (GCC) for Merak Capital, you will be responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, conducting market analysis, and providing insights into the rapidly evolving gaming industry. You will work closely with the team to source deals in the gaming sector and assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing investment transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities in the gaming industry. Analyze market trends, player behaviors, and emerging technologies to stay ahead of the competition. Identify potential investment opportunities in gaming, such as game developers, publishers, eSports platforms, and gaming technology companies.

2. Evaluate financial statements, business models, and growth potential of gaming-related companies. Conduct competitive benchmarking and risk analysis to assess investment viability. Provide recommendations to the team on potential investment opportunities.

3. Collaborate with the team to source deals in the gaming sector through networking, conferences, and industry relationships. Assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing investment transactions.

4. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the gaming industry, including new game releases, technological advancements, and regulatory changes. Serve as the internal expert on gaming trends, delivering insights and presentations to the team and stakeholders.

5. Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to support investment initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including founders, industry leaders, and potential partners.

Requirements:

This role requires someone with a strong background in finance, business, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role working for fast growing companies/startups, or a similar business. A Bachelor's or Master's degree is also necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is highly desirable.
