Senior Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our large-scale IT services projects. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of these projects.

Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing detailed project plans, allocating resources, managing risks, and mitigating potential issues. You will also coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.

To achieve this, you will engage with senior stakeholders and clients to communicate project status, escalate issues, and manage expectations. Additionally, you will implement project governance frameworks and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

A key aspect of this role is driving continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies. You will oversee multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks to meet strategic objectives.

You will also be responsible for managing project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Furthermore, you will mentor and guide project managers and team members to foster professional growth and project excellence.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience managing IT services projects, preferably in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, and Scrum.
  • Experience managing large, complex, and multi-location projects.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience working with global and distributed teams is an advantage.
