We are seeking an experienced Production Chemist to join our team in the pharmaceutical industry.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a production environment and be able to assist in the preparation and execution of chemical production batches, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the preparation and execution of chemical production batches, adhering to SOPs.
  2. Safely manage pyrophoric reagents, Raney nickel, and operate pressure reactors (autoclave).
  3. Perform filtration of low-melting solids and apply optimal filtration techniques.
  4. Report deviations from specifications and work with senior chemists to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
  5. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, test results, and deviations.
  6. Generate reports and summaries as required by production and quality control teams.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  8. Identify and report safety hazards or concerns promptly.
  9. Operate production equipment such as reactors, mixers, and filters.
  10. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality.
  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and research and development.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth production process.
  13. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in chemistry from a reputable university.
  • Up to 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical production sector.
  • Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex scientific concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creative mindset to drive innovation.

This role requires strong visual acuity, fine motor skills, and physical endurance to stand or move across the production floor for prolonged durations, handling machinery and monitoring production activities. Adherence to safety protocols is imperative due to potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and heavy machinery during production operations.
