Lead R&D Innovator

As a highly driven Principal Engineer and Head of Research & Development (Hardware and Optics), you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge medical diagnostic devices.

This role demands a unique blend of hands-on technical expertise, cross-disciplinary knowledge, and leadership skills to drive innovation and growth.

You will conceptualize, prototype, and validate novel hardware and optics solutions for imaging and diagnostic platforms, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct end-to-end R&D activities in hardware, optical systems, and device integration to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Design, prototype, and validate innovative hardware and optics solutions for imaging and diagnostic platforms, leveraging your technical expertise and creative vision.
  • Translate product requirements into scalable technical designs in close collaboration with software, clinical, and regulatory teams, ensuring precision and robustness.
  • Build, guide, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee data-driven design decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving strategic business growth.
  • Drive experimental design, testing, and validation, including wet-lab support and cross-functional collaborations, to deliver high-quality products.
  • Develop and maintain documentation required for regulatory submissions (FDA, CE, CDSCO), ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Manage project timelines, resource planning, and vendor coordination while staying hands-on with complex technical problem-solving.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in Electronics, Optics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong technical expertise in hardware systems, optical instrumentation, sensors, and imaging technologies, with a passion for innovation and experimentation.
  • Proven experience in leading experimental design, prototyping, and lab-based validation, with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to manage and mentor engineers/scientists, while remaining hands-on in solving complex technical problems and driving team performance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory documentation (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601, FDA/CE submissions), with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to assimilate and interpret complex data, drive informed decision-making, and optimize business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate across clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams, driving effective stakeholder engagement and partnership.
