The role involves monitoring security/system logs for events and operational irregularities, analyzing data from various input tools and systems, and conducting red team exercises to test controls. The position requires providing support for complex system/network exploitation and defense techniques, malware analysis, host and network log analysis, and triage in support of incident response.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can quickly learn and adapt, with excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. They should have experience working in a high-pressure environment, prioritizing tasks effectively and executing them with attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze security/system logs
  • Analyze data from various input tools and systems
  • Conduct red team exercises to test controls
  • Provide support for complex system/network exploitation and defense techniques
  • Support malware analysis, host and network log analysis, and triage
  • Develop and coach junior analysts
  • Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related coursework
  • Certifications like CISSP, CEH, CISM, GCIH, GCIA are desirable
  • Experience with SIEM Tools such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, SecureOnix; Case Management Tools such as Swimlane, Phantom, etc.; EDR tools such as Crowdstrike, Sentinel, VMware, McAfee, Microsoft Defender ATP, etc.
  • 6+ years of SOC related work experience

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and event log analysis
  • Strong understanding of Windows, Linux and networking concepts
  • Experience analyzing both log and packet data
  • Familiarity with security solutions including SIEMs, Web Proxies, EDR, Firewalls, VPN, authentication, encryption, IPS/IDS etc.
  • Functional understanding of Cloud environments
  • Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products
