Summary of the role

  • We are seeking an experienced Packaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our packaging team, you will be responsible for preparing software applications for deployment on Windows Operating Systems.

Key responsibilities

  1. Ensure the right packaging approach is used depending on the application.
  2. Execute the steps of the application packaging process within SLA limits, including:
  3. application intake
  4. packaging (involving various packaging tools)
  5. technical testing
  6. documentation
  7. deployment
  8. maintenance
  9. Resolve incidents and requests related to packages within SLA.
  10. Update customers and ITSM tickets throughout their lifecycle.
  11. Liaise with change management, customers, application owners, and vendors where necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications

At least 4 years of experience in preparing applications for deployment on Windows Operating Systems, using available setup commands/scripting and repackaging/customizing setup applications with tooling like InstallShield, RayPack, etc.

Required Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of MSI and MSIX packaging frameworks.
  • Expertise in Windows 11 and AD Group Policies.
  • Intermediate level PowerShell Scripting and basic level VB scripting for automating application installations.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Intune product family, focusing on application creation/integration and deployment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and logical reasoning skills.
  • Experience working in an ITIL-based operations environment with ITSM toolsets like ServiceNow.
