Job Summary

The Data Engineer II is a critical role in our organization, responsible for ensuring the provision of accurate and pertinent data in support of the Legal and Compliance departments. This position involves the extraction and analysis of data from multiple databases/platforms, leveraging skills such as proficiency in SQL & SAP Business Objects, as well as knowledge on Wholesale Distribution Customer Sales and Payments and Plant Receipts and Returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the implementation of enhancements or changes to existing business analytics solutions by helping translate business needs into semantic data access requirements.
  • Perform data mining exercises with vast data sets to find opportunities to grow sales, margin, and market share via tele sales call campaigns, analyzing all pricing activities including discounts, allowances, programs, and contract price, and develop recommendations to improve profitability and mix.
  • Validate data sources, data quality, data transformation, and data aggregation.
  • Analyze data inaccuracies, identify opportunities, and support the development of automated solutions to enhance overall quality of the enterprise data.
  • Work with data stewards to gather requirements on merging, de-duping, cleansing rules.
  • Ensure and maintain a high level of data integrity by using tools to monitor and mass update data changes.
  • Ensure that the information is named properly and defined consistently across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for reuse of data across the enterprise.
  • Monitor data dictionary statistics, analyze reports of data duplicates or other errors to provide ongoing appropriate data reports.
  • Collaborate with different teams like Inside Sales, Finance, and Sourcing in the development and preparation of performance forecasts, projections, and plans based upon numerous variables and data assumptions.
  • Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data, identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets.
  • Perform quantification and impact analysis of existing or proposed operational policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Assist in the coaching and training of business analytics solution users to enhance business decision-making capability.
  • Analyze results of system audits to determine and report variations or problem areas, keen attention to detail including an ability to identify data anomalies.
  • Work cross-functionally with different departments to assess, define, and develop report deliverables.
  • Accurately code variables from original information or data and complete statistical analyses as required.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of directly related experience in healthcare data analytics or data engineering.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Experience with BusinessObjects.
  • Extensive background in Business Intelligence.
  • Understanding of the complete distribution process, including purchases, sales, and payments.
  • Previous mentoring experience.
