Project Engineering Manager - Substation

As a Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that engineering activities for substation projects are completed within the stipulated time frame, balancing quality and cost. You will work closely with the Project Planning Manager to align deliveries with the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Project Planning Manager to ensure schedule adherence
  • Conduct regular project review meetings to optimize resource allocation and productivity
  • Review designs, calculations, and drawings for timely submission and customer approval
  • Clarify issues with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Manage multitasking and deliver multiple tasks on time
  • Clarify inter-discipline issues with design aspects of equipment
  • Enable and review accurate estimation for Bill of Materials submission
  • Review critical issues and procedural delays related to design aspects of equipment
  • Ensure BIM implementation in projects
  • Settle procurement issues and support Supply Chain management
  • Lead and manage a team of Design Leads, Design Engineers, and Draughts persons
  • Review vendor evaluation based on technical specification requirements
  • Support Site Execution Teams for commercial issues and bill processing
  • Ensure issuance of Manufacturing Clearance through necessary communication with suppliers
  • Communicate and clarify deliverable lists from clients and obtain resource requirements

Technical Expertise:

The Project Engineering Manager should have overall expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects, with a thorough understanding of design aspects of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 KV. They should be proficient in selecting equipment such as power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers. They should also be well-versed in substation primary and secondary design, including earthing, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, and interfaces between civil, MEP, and instrumentation.

Qualifications:

B.E. / B. Tech. in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineer
