Mainframe Application Development Lead

The Mainframe Application Development Lead will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing application on batch and online mainframe applications
  • Designing and implementing test automation frameworks for batch and online mainframe applications
  • Creating and maintaining test data for various test scenarios, ensuring data integrity and consistency
  • Performing functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on mainframe-based applications
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs and defects, collaborating with development teams for resolution

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing and test automation for mainframe applications
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug mainframe applications

Desirable Skills

While not required, it would be beneficial if you had experience with:

  • Mainframe modernization or migration projects
  • Cloud-based testing solutions for mainframe applications
  • Performance and load testing for mainframe systems
  • API testing (REST / SOAP) and message queues (MQ Series, Kafka) in mainframe integration
