Job Overview

The role of a BIS consultant involves providing expert guidance on regulatory compliance requirements in the Indian market. This position aims to provide genuine support and transparency to clients, helping them navigate regulatory guidelines for seamless trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide authoritative guidance on BIS certification procedures.
  • Assist clients in identifying relevant BIS standards and categories for their products.
  • Facilitate the preparation and submission of BIS applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Coordinate with recognized testing laboratories for product evaluation and obtain required test reports.
  • Ensure products meet technical performance and safety standards as mandated by BIS regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients and regulatory officials to expedite the certification process.
  • Monitor and track application status, ensuring timely follow-up and approval.
  • Advise clients on testing and post-certification compliance strategies.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients in maintaining regulatory adherence, managing renewals, and addressing regulatory concerns.
  • Stay updated with changes in BIS regulations, particularly those affecting products under the ISI Mark Scheme-1.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of BIS standards applicable to the ISI Mark Scheme-1.
  • Proficiency in the BIS portal system.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
