Job Description

Renate Capital Fund I is a Category II AIF Venture Capital Fund, investing in revenue-positive Indian startups solving core Indian problems.

We invest a larger cheque and take controlling/major stakes in startups raising Seed Rounds, and target disciplined 18-24 month exits with 3 times returns.

The fund is sector-agnostic, backed by the Renate ecosystem across consulting, finance, housing, aviation, exports, skilling, and sustainability.

Role Overview
  • You will be part of the core team, working directly under the Managing Director.
  • Sourcing investors, structuring deals, closing deals, evaluating startups, managing due diligence, and supporting portfolio companies are key responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deal Sourcing: Identify investors/LPs through networks, events, inbound leads, accelerators, and referrals.
  2. Evaluation of Investments: Analyze business models, financials, traction, and scalability of potential investments.
  3. Due Diligence: Support legal, financial, and compliance checks on shortlisted startups.
  4. Portfolio Support: Work with portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking.
  5. Market Research: Conduct deep dives into sectors, prepare market maps, and identify emerging opportunities.
  6. Fund Operations: Assist with investment memos, reporting to LPs, and internal fund documentation.
  7. Ecosystem Building: Represent Renate Capital at startup events, demo days, and founder meetings.

 

Requirements
  • Completed or ongoing Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6-12 months of experience in VC, PE, consulting, investment banking, or startup strategy.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
