Cloud Migration Expert

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with a global ICT Services company, as a Cloud Migration Specialist.

This specialist position within the Cloud organization is responsible for maintaining and providing excellent cloud migration services to customers.

The Cloud Migration Specialist helps businesses move their operations to cloud-based platforms. They work with businesses to identify their current IT infrastructure and business processes to determine the best cloud migration strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design customer cloud environments with a focus on AWS/Azure and demonstrate technical cloud operational knowledge.
  • Provide solutions in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques, including mass application movements into the cloud.
  • Develop and manage migration plans and timelines along with strong knowledge of different "R" strategies such as Rehost, Rebuild etc.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to understand business requirements.
  • Identify the right tool set to be used for the migration and mitigate risks associated with the migration.
  • Ensure successful completion of the migration within project timelines.
  • Communicate progress and status of the migration to project stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate testing and validation of migrated data/systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the migration.
  • Provide training and support to end-users as needed.
  • Participate in post-migration activities and provide ongoing support as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • More than 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, and cloud migration.
  • Minimum of 3+ years on cloud migration (AWS / Azure).
  • Experience in working on native migration tools or any other third-party tools such as Stratozone, Migration Center, Carbonite, Platespin.
  • Understanding of up-to-date network architecture concepts and system integration principles.
  • Strong understanding across azure and aws infrastructure components.
  • Delivered end-to-end cloud infrastructure engagements that include assessment, design, and migrations.
