SCADA Engineer Wanted

We are seeking a seasoned SCADA/ADMS/OMS professional with hands-on expertise in the GE PowerOn platform to provide end-to-end lifecycle support for Distribution Automation projects.

The ideal candidate will possess direct experience with PowerOn configuration, SCADA/DMS/OMS workflows, GIS integration, and utility operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, test, and deploy GE PowerOn Advantage/ADMS modules (SCADA, DMS, OMS) to optimize system performance.
  • Customize business logic, alarms, telemetry points, and control actions to meet utility requirements.
  • Develop PL/SQL/Shell/Perl scripts to automate data processing and system operations for seamless integration.
  • Integrate systems with GIS (e.g., Smallworld), AMI, OMS, and enterprise systems for streamlined operations.
  • Implement and support FLISR, Volt/VAR Optimization, Load Forecasting, and Switching Plans to enhance distribution efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve real-time operational issues on SCADA/DMS platforms to minimize downtime.
  • Provide user training, documentation, and L2/L3 support to control room operators for effective system utilization.
  • Collaborate with GE support teams, utility clients, and internal developers to ensure project success.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in SCADA/ADMS/OMS engineering within the electric utility sector with a strong focus on system design and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with GE PowerOn (Advantage / Fusion / Control) and proficiency in SCADA protocols (DNP3, IEC 101/104, Modbus).
  • Strong scripting ability in PL/SQL, Shell, Perl with familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with distribution network modeling and GIS-to-ADMS mapping for efficient system operation.
  • Understanding of distribution system operations and control center processes with a focus on improving system reliability.

Education:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering with a strong foundation in system design and development.
